Christmas Tree Recycling (KTMB/Club Event)

Details

It's time to recycle some Christmas trees to make Truckee Meadows Beautiful! KTMB’s Christmas Tree Recycling Program gives residents an easy alternative to sending trees to the landfill or dumping them in the desert. Keeping trees out of our open spaces reduces fire risk in the summer and the Christmas tree mulch is used for weed abatement and park beautification projects.

Sign up to help recycle Xmas trees. Dress warmly! Coffee and donuts included.

Shift: 9:00AM-1:00 PM

Location: Shadow Mountain Sports Complex, Sparks

Over the last 19 years, 182,000 trees have been recycled through KTMB’s Christmas Tree Recycling program thanks to the help of thousands of volunteers and our many partners including NV Energy Foundation and Washoe County Health District.

Pedalers and Project Hero Beginner plus ride

Once again this year a collaborative effort between the Reno-Tahoe Pedalers and Project Hero.
Ralph Bell is our current ride leader with routes often on the dedicated bike paths. Rides range from 18-25miles. No planned route sheets but no worries. You just have to follow Ralph and he will not leave you behind. While most of the riders are veterans, you do not have to be a veteran to ride. The rides occur on most Mondays and Fridays at 10am all year. Meet at the northwest corner parking lot at The Northern Nevada Nevada State Veterans Home.

South and Central Reno

Details

We meet at RC Willey's and sign in at 10:15 and leave for the ride at 10:30am.

This is a ride that I did on my own in Fall 2020. I have made some adjustments to it and intend to ride it before Saturday, so small adjustments may be made, but the number of the file will stay the same. Such changes won't be huge I may avoid certain intersections.

This ride has two larger climbs separated by 8 miles, so it isnt constant.
It is largely a residential ride.

Climb #1 La Guardia, Wolf Creek, Water Lily, Buckthorn, Welcome Dr.

Climb #2 Evans Creek (minor)

Climb #3 Greenberg, Amberwood, Manzanita, Pioneer, Skyline, Skyline View, Hemlock
