Our History
1979: Suzy Truax and some cycling friends named their cycling group “the Procrastinating Pedalers.”
1988, March 2: the “Procrastinating Pedalers of Reno” was incorporated as a non-profit organization by Kevin DeWolfe, Bruce MacKay, and Frank Cronick.
2024: The club officially changed its name to the Reno-Tahoe Pedalers.
Bart Kluck designed the original Pedaler jersey(seen above) featuring a Washoe Zephyr blowing across the Truckee Meadows.
Our Mission
We are dedicated to promoting safe, non-competitive recreational cycling and healthy lifestyles in a fun and social atmosphere .
Our Objectives
• To encourage the use of the bicycle for recreation, health and as an alternative means of transportation for all age groups.
• To publicize the value of bicycling for health, recreation and as a participatory and spectator sport.
• To furnish information and education pertaining to safe, skillful and enjoyable use of the bicycle.
• To advocate for favorable legislation and facilities which enhance the safety and employment of the bicycle as a transportation and recreational vehicle.
• To provide a social group in which individuals interested in all aspects of bicycling may participate. • To organize and sponsor bicycling activities.
